MIAMI
is such a beautiful and magical city. The heat, beach, and lifestyle are so similar to life in my native Australia. It’s warm, laid-back, and there are lots of water sports. Miami used to be transient, but today I feel a strong sense of community and an innovative spirit in the people who live here. Maybe it’s the mix of European, American and South Americans, but it feels more multicultural than other American cities I’ve lived in. As far as Miami’s evolution, I’ve noticed the design district, Wynwood, Coconut Grove (my hood) and Brickell blossom. I also love that the Bahamas and NYC are just a couple of hours away. I am so happy the boys and I chose this great city to call home for now. Although I MUST learn Spanish!
HOME
is where I love to be and we are very lucky to live in Miami. I have always had an interest in interiors, which is really my life ethos – I am fascinated with what lies inside or beneath. Whether it’s do with interior design or to do with health, I believe true beauty radiates from the inside out. My home here in Miami is full of modern art, and furniture from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. It’s mid-century style with a Miami twist. For me, colour is important, so are clean lines with dash of eccentricity so my home is very much a juxtaposition of mid-century modern, seagrass matting, Miami styling and indigenous art. My love of the outdoors means I am always swinging open the windows and the doors and letting the clean air and sunshine flow through the house. I love gardening, and right now I am obsessed with crafting a vegetable patch!

SHOPPING
I love exploring the Design District where art and fashion meet. I can find all my favorite brands there and interesting architecture. I often find myself at Aventura Mall where there’s a great mix of high street brands and luxury brands under one roof. I always look forward to Design Miami for furniture and fixtures, as well as Art Basel. The weather is great, and friends visit from NYC and Europe. I always feel so proud to show them this city.
FOOD
The food is fantastic in Miami. My favourite restaurants are Makoto in Bal Harbour, Four Seasons Hotel in Surfside, Casa TUA in South Beach, Mandolin, Komodo on Brickell, and Scarpetta and Hakkasan at the Fontainebleau. I also love plant-based ones like Sacred Space and Planta. There are many great hole-in-the wall Cuban spots too!
